Ability-Over-Disability Art Exhibit Fundraiser
Beyond the Brush: Artistic Displays of Resilience and Strength
In 1987, President Reagan declared March as Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month, a time to amplify public awareness about the needs and remarkable potential of individuals with developmental disabilities. This declaration serves as a reminder to provide encouragement and opportunities that empower them to lead fulfilling and productive lives.
On Thursday, March 6, Mercy Home invites you to join us at the iconic National Arts Club in Lower Manhattan for our Ability-Over-Disability Art Exhibit Fundraiser. Under the theme "Beyond the Brush: Artistic Displays of Resilience and Strength," this evening promises to be a powerful celebration of creativity and the human spirit!
This unique exhibit will feature a dazzling collection of artwork created by individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Each piece tells a profound story, offering a window into their experiences, dreams, and exceptional talents. These visionary works reflect the extraordinary connection between artist and medium, showcasing resilience, strength, and the boundless creativity that emerges through intersensory expression.
At Mercy Home, we believe art is a universal language that transcends barriers. Our Ability-Over-Disability Art Exhibit is not just an event, it is a movement to champion disability inclusion, promote awareness, and create equitable access to the arts. All proceeds from the evening will support our vital programs, ensuring the individuals we serve continue to thrive through opportunities that enrich their lives.
Sponsorship opportunities and tickets are still available! Don’t miss your chance to be part of this inspiring evening of Food, Fun, and Fellowship. Together, we can celebrate the power of art to unite communities and highlight the beauty of diversity.
We can’t wait to welcome you for this unforgettable celebration!
Warm regards,
Mercy Home
